Christmas, holidays and family meals. Being the hostess is easier than we think. No need to spend hours and hours in the kitchen.
We suggest the following, basics. A juicy pork with dried plums and apricots and a salad with beetroots. Gourmet!
We leave the rest to each ones’ taste.
And we begin from our ingredients. (the following recipes are for 10 people)
Approx. 2 kg pork loin
1 bay laef
1 small cup dried apricots
1 small cup dried plums
1 small cup freshly squeezed orange juice
For our sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon mustard (French type)
Orange zest from one orange
Plenty of olive oil for our pan
Salt and pepper
And for the salad:
3 cups boiled beetroots
Coarsely chopped walnuts
1 plain yogurt
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic clove (optional)
We simmer our pork along with the bay leaf and pepper for about an hour and a half. At the same time, on another hob we boil our beetroots and therefore, we save time.
Meanwhile, we preheat our oven and prepare our sauce. We simply stir all our ingredients. And that’s all!
We now, remove our pork from the pot and place it on a large pan with the plums and apricots and drizzle it with our sauce. In the pan we add plenty of olive oil and some of our pork broth. We bake for 39 minutes at 200 degrees and during baking we open the oven and drizzle the meat with its sauce.
Now for our beetroot salad. We cut the beetroots into cubes. Not with our hands. We getting into such trouble? With Dicer Express of course! In no time! Then, we grate the apple and if we choose to use garlic, we use Garlic Cutter. We mix up the olive oil, the mayo and the yogurt and then add to this mixture the beetroots, walnuts and garlic. The result is enchanting!
Our meal is ready to serve! Careful though… we need to cut the meat with the appropriate knife, or we may destroy it. Choosing the right knife we make sure that the whole process was not a waist of time.
Buon appetite and Merry Christmas!
