Description
The Corfiot painter-engraver Lykourgos Kogevinas is ranked among the leading European engravers of the 20th century.
Kogevinas was primarily an engraver. He is the first Greek to engrave etchings in Paris in the years 1906-1912 (Eau-forte) and he is the first Greek engraver to print color etchings in Paris in the years 1925-1932.
The collection of color engravings "Ships of the Revolution" consists of twelve works depicting Greek ships built in the 18th and 19th century. Ships that participated in all the great naval battles of the revolution, while some were the first ships of the fleet of the free Greek state.
